Rumor: Media Molecule signs with sony
Could it be true? Did Sony woo Media Molecule with an exclusive three-game contract, which they accepted? If that’s the case, then MM sure is one lucky beef, don’t you think?
Lets hope it is true, it would be great to see some more great games from them
The developing company responsible for what is touted as the PS3’s biggest release of 2008, LittleBigPlanet, is first and foremost, a third party studio. This means that they are free to develop for any platform as they may wish. But with this new twist of events, MM would become solely affiliated with Sony, and we can expect more high-rating, cute-cuddly games for the PS3 in the coming years.
That is, if the rumor is true. We’ll try and sniff out more info on this to bring to you guys in the coming days. Or months. Or until we hear an official statement from either party involved.
PlayStation 3 is 2 years old!!!
The PlayStation 3 is now 2 years old! Just think 2 years ago there were thousands of people waiting in line to get this awesome box, and now over 17 million have it! It has been a great 2 years and i cant wait for the other 8 still to come. Sony had this to say at the B-day Party!
Thanks to the millions of people around the world who took home a PS3 for themselves (some 17 million as of last count), Sony is all the more inspired to bring you only the best in gaming. And as PS3 enters its second birthday, Sony, through John Koller, promises a whole lot more to come your way.
He says:
We wouldn’t be where we are today without your continued support and all of the feedback you’ve provided here on this blog. We don’t have a crystal ball, but we know that you can look forward to many great games and PS3 enhancements over the next 12 months, starting with the upcoming launch of PlayStation Home’s open beta, which will bring the PS3 community closer together. Then, just around the corner, you’ll have Killzone 2, inFamous, and tons more. So please join me in wishing a happy second birthday to PS3!
Can’t wait to see all the stuff that is coming in the futur of the playstation 3, but untill then Happy Birthday Playstation 3!
Resistance 2 Reviews
Want to know how Resistance 2 did in the Reviews? Well dont bother looking from site to site to try and read all the reviews. Just read the review here. We got this information from Kotaku.com

GameDaily
Resistance 2’s developer, Insomniac Games, does an excellent job throwing us into tense situations. Throughout our brief journey, we wandered through dark and alien infested apartment buildings, battled a giant monster in Chicago and narrowly avoided becoming a snack for a vicious Fury, an underwater creature that makes a beeline for hapless swimmers. Bullets and lasers fly in all directions, barrels explode and enormous creatures blot out the sun. This is why we own PlayStation 3s.
1UP
The prologue finds Hale arriving at the Sentinels’ Iceland base, where the Chimera (the series’ big, bad aliens) stage an assault — whose effects come to fruition when the timeline jumps forward two years to a Chimeran blitzkrieg on America, which takes up the rest of the single-player campaign’s seven chapters. The story’s serviceable, but due to the lack of a narrator, understanding everything requires a bit of legwork — you only know as much as Hale does, and scattered, collectible documents flesh out the background details.
Gamer 2.0
It’s a good thing that Resistance 2 has a lot more to offer outside of the single-player campaign, which means the multiplayer that spans both co-op and competitive multiplayer. Taking inspiration from Call of Duty 4, you have a similar RPG-style level aspect to the entire game, meaning you can get experience from single-player, co-op, and multiplayer to building up your overall level along with the individual levels that each mode has. That gives you a nice incentive to try out everything to unlock more stuff for each mode to see what your next prize is. Another new addition to the multiplayer is the new allies system, or the fancy term for its party set-up that lets you invite friends to stay with you throughout multiplayer or co-op sessions.
Eurogamer
Resistance 2 saves its most innovative ideas for co-operative play, however. The traditional answer would be to let players go through the single-player side-by-side, but instead, up to eight players join forces and take on a series of miniature campaigns that run alongside the main story, suggesting some of the other events that are occurring while Hale does his hero thing. There are six maps, drawn from this game and the original, with a set number of different objectives attached to each. The game randomly selects and shuffles three of these objectives for each game, throwing in some boss encounters to spice things up further.
IGN
While the game is phenomenal in a technical and visual sense in the terms of its scale and number of enemies on screen at once, there are some weird technical issues that crop up here and there. For one thing, some of the textures are noticeably lower resolution than others, and there’s a lot of texture pop-in and screen tearing that will crop up here and there as you move through each environment. What’s more, you’ll find some strange instances where monsters may twitch after they’ve been killed, or limbs of some creatures that have been blown off will still remain standing as if connected to some invisible body. It’s a strange thing to see what would appear to be a mannequin limb. There are also some clipping issues that will crop up.
Kotaku
If anything, Resistance 2 could be pitched as the holiday shooter that’s “bigger, better and more bad-ass.” Everything has been upped for the sequel, with a workable 60-person multiplayer option, a ton of fan service for the Resistance enthusiast and a co-op mode that’s not only fun as hell, but fleshes out the core story line. The intel collect-a-thons certainly aren’t my thing, nor is trying to piece together all the disparate plot points, but the hardcore Resistance fan has been very well taken care of. It may be that the novelty of a sci-fi shooter set in the mid-twentieth century has worn off a bit and that the game looks a bit underwhelming in light of the competition, but I actually recall enjoying the first a bit more.
So what do you guys think, are the reviews on? Is the game Worth it?
Home 1.0 Details
Home is coming out this year i think we all knew that. There was a lot of people that didn’t believe it but it is on it’s way. Home has come along way since i got into the beta, and i cant wait for it to go to open beta. But here is what one of the Home Managers just said ”
Here’s a rough overview of the coming weeks:
- The version 1.0 Patch Notes will be published in the closed beta forum so they know what to expect and to help plan testing.
- A couple of days later Version 1.0 will be released into the Closed beta. That will not happen this week.
- SCEE will be inviting a large number of extra testers into the closed beta to load test and that process will start within a day or so of v1.0 going live. We wont invite them all straight away, we’ll ramp it up over a a period of time. We will be inviting non-English speaking testers for the first time. Languages covered will be English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. Please remember these are languages, not countries, so more than the immediately obvious countries will be included to a degree. The lists have been chosen already, don’t try changing your language to get included!
- Once we start inviting people in to the Closed Beta the public SCEE Home forums will become the Home beta test forums.
- The date of Open Beta start will be announced in advance
- Open Beta starts and that will be just as it implies, Open to all
There’s more detail that I’ll bring to you about bug reporting, forum changes etc closer to the time.
Finally, Home Open Beta is the start of a long journey, not the end of one. I know I’ve said this a lot recently but I see many of you are thinking of Home Open Beta like a game release in that you’re expecting the final version to be launched with just some patches and maybe some DLC to come afterwards. Home Beta is a service that will grow from the foundation of v1.0 over the coming months and years so thinking of it as a start rather than a finish will help you understand where its going and what its all about. We all appreciate you’ve been waiting a long time to be a part of this journey and we hope you enjoy it once your on board with us. “
